  • 06 Aug - Plan to increase the ranks of the regular army with volunteers was approved by Parliament to an of increase of 500,000 men.
  • 25 Aug - First Speech in Parliament.
  • 09 Nov - Speech given at the Lord Mayor's Guildhall Banquet, responding to the toast "The Imperial Forces of the Crown." [1][2]
