During this period in the line, the enemy has been most peaceful, our total casualties for this tour of 8 days each being 1 man killed and 4 wounded. The mud is simply appalling and has prevented any interesting operations on our part. All our energies have been confined to making the men as comfortable as possible and preventing TRENCH FEET. Only one case of the latter has occurred and this due to personal negligence – a very good record indeed, as the conditions have been most trying to the men. Construction of trenches progresses very slowly owing to the wet.
27th | General
Brig. Gen. J ERSKINE C.M.G, M.V.O took over command of the Division during the absence on leave of the Divisional Commander. Lt Col D MATHERS D.S.O. assumed command of the Brigade. Major CK JAMES D.S.O. assumed command of the Bn.
