Hi all,

In Appleby there is the Boer War memorial, could anyone please tell me the story that lies behind it?

Any information is appreciated.

Hi,

Perhaps these postings I’ve made in the past which have some significance to Border Regiment Volunteer Battlion men from Appleby may be a bit of help? (Especially the first one for the 1905 book pages) Just click on these links:

Regards Paul
p.s. Were you aware that in addition to the memorial at the junction next to St. Michaels church, Appleby, there is also a memorial plaque in the porch of St. Lawrence's church, Appleby.
