This book was recommended to me because I was researching the 1st Battalion during their time in Gallipoli. It came as no surprise to me that this book was going to deliver a cauldron of information relating no only to the Border Regiment but to all those who were involved in the fighting that took place at Gully Ravine. It was everything I expected and more!

Written by Stephen Chambers, a friend of the person who recommended it to me, this book offers everything you need to know about what really happened at Gully Ravine during the Allied residence of the peninsula. There are some great details, decent factual elements and a collection of excellent photos of the time, all working together to give you, the reader, a better insight to this lesser known area of Gallipoli.

After asking for permission, Stephen kindly agreed for me to include certain Border Regiment elements from his book in my basic history of the 1st Battalion during World War One and for that I give my humble thanks. The 1st Battalion history in Gallipoli can be seen here: 1st Battalion in the Helles Operations (1915) (if you're interested)
