- 04 Aug - Ultimatum to Germany; Army mobilised and State of War with Germany.
- 06 Aug - Credit of £100,000,000.
- 12 Aug - Declaration of war with Austria.
- 18 Sep - Parliament prorogued.
- 05 Nov - Declaration of war with Turkey.
- 11 Nov - Parliament re-opened.
