Where is Kohat? Posting for 1st Battalion in 1924.

1st Battalion were in Kohat on the North West Frontier between 1924-25. The 2/4th Battalion were also based here between 1917-19.

The town is in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Province of Pakistan at 1607 feet above sea level and is just north of the Kohat Toi River at the entrance to the Kohat Pass, through which a military road was opened in 1901. A British built narrow gauge railway runs through the town. See also WW1 2/4th regimental crest in Cherat Hills postings (Kohat area).
