Citation For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. On one occasion, when the officer commanding the platoon had become a casualty, he took command and handled the men under heavy fire with conspicuous skill and ability and great personal gallantry. During the period under review he has frequently distinguished himself by the energy and courage of his behaviour in action, setting a fine example to the men of his company.
