1915 (Saturday)

  • Battalion moves to Prees Heath Camp in Salop (Shropshire) where it joins the 97th Infantry Brigade, under Brigadier-General Hacket Thompson, C.B.[a]
  • Report from the School of Instruction, Stirling on Lieut. Davidson. A very hard working officer who has had very little previous experience. He should make a very good officer. His conduct was Exemplary.[1]

1916 (Monday)

1917 (Tuesday)

  • Offoy: Parades cancelled owing to rain. Training continues in billets: musketry, bayonet fighting and physical training.

1918 (Wednesday)

  • Berles-au-Bois: Usual company training and afternoon recreation.

Notes

  1. The ground there is found unsuitable for Brigade Training. The whole of the 97th Brigade proceeds on to Wensleydale, Yorkshire on 22 June.
  2. Training continues for those who are able during the whole period of isolation.
