Citation For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty as runner between the front line companies and battalion headquarters. He constantly brought in wounded to the dressing station under very heavy fire. On one occasion, when our position was rocking with the explosion of shells, he went out and rescued another runner who was wounded.
