|post =Note he wears the QSA and KSA (Boer War medals) but a "King's Crown" on his helmet plate, thus I guess Edwardian, pre WW1 period.
 
Any idea of his possible WW1 service? He may have been a little old for active service, so perhaps an instructor/ recruiting [[Sergeant]]?
