<!--BIOGRAPHY---------->
|biography = Frederick was born in 1882 in Hulme, Manchester. He moved to Salford where he lived at 83 Sunnyside Street. Here he met Abigail Alice Buchanan, born 1884, who lived at 101 Sunnyside Street. They married when she was 19 and he was 21 on the 17 October 1903 at St. Bartholomews Church on Oldfield Road Salford. They set up house at 46 Robert Hall Street, in Salford.

When the First World War broke out in 1914 Frederick Arthur Cooper went to sign on in Salford, but was refused and as he had no eyebrows. He then walked from Salford to Seaford in Sussex, drew eyebrows on and enlisted in August 1914 into the 9th (Service) Battalion (Pioneers) The Border Regiment. He was enlisted as Private 18568 Frederick Arthur Cooper.

After training the Battalion went to France where he saw action at the Battle of Ypres, Neuve Chapelle and Hill 60. On 25 October 1915 his Division left from Le Panier, France, to Macedonia. On 4 November 1915 his Division landed at Thessalonika for Macedonia. After seeing action there his Division retreated from Serbia on 8 December 1915.

He then saw action in the Battle of Horseshoe Hill, Southwest of Dojran, on 10 August 1916. He also fought at the Battle of Machine Gun Hill, Machukovo (Evzonoi) on 13 September 1916. The Battle of Dojran (Srentenovo) on 24 April 1917 and at the Battle of Dojran (Nov Dojran) on 18 September 1918.

As there are no dates to confirm this it must be assumed that he was the casualty of a gas attack in his last battle on 18 September 1918. He was moved to No.31 Casualty Clearing Station but died of Bronchopneumonia at 8pm on 31 October 1918.
