This is a documentation subpage for Template:Hatnote compendium category.
In most cases it contains usage information, example, categories and other content that is not part of the original template page.
This hatnote template provides a singular purpose. It is designed to briefly notify the reader that the category they are viewing forms part of the Compendium of the Lonsdale Battalion and the wider Border Regiment. Specifically, it states it is a sub-category of [[Category:Compendium]], which is the top-level category for this project.
Usage
Either of the following can be used.
- The main template page
{{hatnote compendium category}} - The redirected template page
{{compendium category}}
It should be placed at the top of a new compendium category page before any content.
