This is a documentation subpage for Template:Location map.

In most cases it contains usage information, example, categories and other content that is not part of the original template page.

This template displays values for the map templates such as {{Location map United Kingdom}}. These templates are used by {{Location map}} to obtain values such as the file name and the border coordinates of each location map.

The name parameter

The {{Location map}} family of templates uses the value assigned to name to generate alt text. It is used to construct the sentence "label is located in name". Assign a value to <name> that fits in the sentence. For example:

Chicago is located in the United States. So Template:Para.

Santo Domingo is located in the Dominican Republic. So Template:Para.
