The Battalion remained in rest billets.
12/8/16
The Battalion marched to HANGEST and entrained for MERICOURT arriving about 5pm. The Battalion then marched to billets at BUIRE.
BUIRE
13/8/16
The Battalion encamped in a field North of the Church, BUIRE.
14/8/16– 31/8/16
The Battalion remained encamped in reserve.
25/8/16
The Battalion attended a ceremonial parade for the presentation of honours to Officers, NCO’s, and men of the French Army by the Army Commander.

Drafts, as under joined the Battalion during the month.
18/8/16:- 3 Other Ranks.
29/8/16:- 11 Other Ranks.
The men of these drafts had all served with the battalion previously.

Lieut. W.B. BUTLER and 2nd Lieut. J.S. WILLOX joined the Battalion on 26/8/16.

38 Other Ranks were evacuated Sick during the month.

The strength of the Battalion on the last day of the month was 32 Officers, 785 Other Ranks.
