On 20th August a draft of 25 Other Ranks joined the Battalion.
On 21st August Capt A.P. Blackwood rejoined the Battalion from 28th Bn London Regt (Artists Rifles).
On 22nd August 2nd Lieuts W.L. Day and J.G. [Grinter?] joined the Battalion.

The Battalion proceed to Reserve Trenches near MARIAS.

The Battalion was temporarily attached to the 1st Division and proceeded to Reserve trenches at NOYELLE being attached to 2nd Brigade.

The 1st Grenadier Guards and 2nd Scots Guards were transferred to a newly formed Guards Brigade and were replaced by 8th& 9th Devon Rgt.
