I wondered - where is Landi Kotal, location of the 2nd Battalion in 1931?

Landi Kotal or Landikotal is the highest point on the Khyber Pass at 1072 metres above sea level. Location 34°6'4N 71°8'44E. The pass is the route across the mountains to the city of Peshawar. After the First World War the British built The Khyber Pass Railway from Jamrud, near Peshawar, to the Afghan border near Landi Kotal which was opened in 1925. During WW2 the British installed "Dragon's Teeth" concrete obstacles in the pass to deter an invasion by tanks.

In 1934 the 2nd Battalion moved to Ferozepore - see other posting in this section. (Also see postings & photos for WW1 2/4th Battalion regimental crest in the Cherat Hills in the pass.)
