Signed by the commanding officer, Lt-Col. Hinde.

Lieutenant-Colonel H.T.L Hinde was in charge of an action during the Boer War involving five companies of the Border Regt on 20th November 1899 at Willow Grange before being wounded at Tugela River on 15th Dec 1899 and invalided home. His son was Lt. Eric Charles Langford Hinde, Royal Engineers, killed in action Waziristan 9 April 1937.
