In 1881 the Kirkby Lonsdale Company of The Westmorland Rifle Volunteers became part of 2nd Volunteer Btn The Border Regiment. Their armoury was on Jingling Lane where there are pictured in 1905 with Capt. F. Pearson (a solicitor), Lieuts. B. Rigg & B. Williams, and Sgt. Wiliam Spooner.
