*Son of Mary and the late George Bartle, of Waterloo Cottage, Cockermouth, Cumberland. *Husband of Margret Jane Bartle, of Castle Cottages, Cockermouth. *Previously employed as a gamekeeper at Cockermouth castle. *Also commemorated on the Bartle Family Grave at Mosser St. Philip Churchyard, Blindothel. *His brother Walter Bartle (241205 Pte.) 1st Border Regiment was killed 16 August 1917.
