Hello, I am Borderman, just a regular user of the Miraheze community, using their services to create this site, The Lonsdale Battalion, of which I am the administrator.

Main projects

Lonsdale Battalion Roll of Honour. An update on the progress of the can be seen → here

Lonsdale Battalion history. Self-explanatory but haven't worked on this for a long while.

Reference templates

These are used primarily on Lonsdale Battalion on this day... but will now be introducing them to index pages. Not all pages will require all three templates. Most may only use the {{acks}} (acknowledgements) template, others may require a combination of two or all three, particularly if there are additional notes or references to be included.

Reference syntax for notes

Currently, there three main syntaxes for notes. These are used with the {{reflist}} template. The above template (Template:Notes) includes all three variations so if any of these are used, they will be displayed.

With the above in mind adding the following syntax within the text will provide the subsequent renderings for each version. It doesn't matter which version is used providing they remain consistent on each page.

Syntax used is <ref group="note">..note goes here...</ref> which renders as ^{[note 1]}
Syntax used is <ref group="n">..note goes here...</ref> which renders as ^{[n 1]}
Syntax used is <ref group="lower-alpha">..note goes here...</ref> which renders as ^[a] and this ^[b]

↑ This is the note that renders the whole word note 1, note 2, note 3.

↑ This is the note that renders the abbreviated version of "note" as n 1, n 2, n 3.

↑ This is the note that renders letters of the alphabet
↑ The more notes there are the more letters are rendered: a, b, c, d, e, f, etc.

Poppy photos for soldiers without main image

The following poppy images can be used on the soldier remembrance pages where there is no image of the soldier. The single poppy represents the soldier that fell and is remembered with this flower of peace.
