Two N.C.O.'s and 13 privates left Poona as a draft to the 1st Battalion The Oxford and Bucks Light Infantry on service with Expeditionary Force “D”. This small draft was part of General Townshend's force which advanced on Baghdad, took part in the Battle of Ctesiphon, the subsequent retreat, and finally was besieged in Kut. |
