Over the years there have been several contributors who volunteered their time to help our projects in various different ways. From transcribing the Border Regiment War Diaries to sharing research and providing media files for the Lonsdale Battalion Roll of Honour, credit must be given to the following people whose help has improved this resource.

Paul Bramham

Paul spent many hours transcribing the war diaries, sharing photographs of his personal collection of Border Regiment memorabilia (many of which are on this site), and talking about his extensive knowledge of the Lonsdale Battalion and the Border Regiment. Paul worked as a press photographer, so he knew everything there is know about photography and copyright. Paul is sadly no longer with us – Rest in peace good friend.

Mike Deacon

Mike has previously shared newspaper clipping and photographs from his online memorial project.

John Fearn

John provided a copy of the 11th Battalion war diary for transcribing at great expense, long before it was readily available online for a fraction of the cost. Borderman, creator of this site, was lucky enough to meet John at the National Army Museum in London where it was clear John was passionate about military history.

Hugh Fulton

Hugh has provided articles relating to his grandfather, Adam Fulton, along with a gallery of photographs relating to the 6th Battalion.

Spike

Spike (Kevin Johnstone) created his own informative Lonsdale Battalion Roll of Honour website from an excel file Borderman created for our very own roll of honour. The site grew over the years and included many stories and photographs of the soldiers he had faithfully researched. Unfortunately, that site is no longer available, having closed down due to running costs. Kevin can no longer commit time to working on these various projects, but he very generously donated copies of his research for use here on this site. Much of this material is from archival sources that are in the public domain. Some will be from personal archives.
