LOCAL CASUALTIES

Corporal J. Mewhorter, writing from a Bournemouth hospital says: -

Dear Mr. Star Man,

Just a line or two to let you know I received your parcel of Old Toms, for which please accept my thanks. Bank Holiday down here was ripping day. Glorious weather, and crowds of trippers. Made one wonder if there really was a war on. Excuse short letter, I am writing with one arm in a sling. Again thanking the STAR readers.

The following Workington men are officially reported wounded: - Private J. Dunn.
