LOST A FEW MEN

Private J. Simpson, 11th Border, in a letter received on Monday says:

Dear Sir,

Just a few lines to thank you for your parcel of Old Tom cigarettes. I am sorry to say the last time in the trenches we lost a few men. We are at present out of the trenches, but we return to them again in a day or two. The weather here has been very bad, which makes it rough on the lads when in the trenches. My Platoon pals are all in the pink of condition, and I myself am the same. I thank the “Star” readers, and wish your paper every success.
