WOUNDED

Private Johnston Bailiff, son of Mr. James Bailiff, proprietor of the Opera House, has been shot through the shoulder, but is doing well.
Corporal W. Bacon, who used to live at Moor House, has also been wounded.
Signaller R. Kennaugh, son of the late Councillor Kennaugh, who is also doing well, has been shot in the left arm and foot.
Private Peter Rafferty, Great Clifton, who worked at William Pitt before becoming a soldier, has been shot in the knee.
Private Harry Scott, son of Mr. Scott, Frostoms-road, has been wounded in both arms, both legs and one eye. He is in a home hospital and progressing favourably.—Workington Star and Harrington Guardian, Published 8 July 1917.
