- Kiel Canal reopened (owing to its having been deepened) by the Kaiser. Visit of the British Fleet under Sir G. Warrender. Kaiser inspects the Dreadnought HMS King George V.
1915
- Template:WF Continued fighting north of Arrras and on the heights of the Meuse. French airmen bomb railway station at Douai.
- Template:EF Russians fight a rearguard action at Bobrka.
- Template:SF Austrians repulsed in the Carnic Alps.
- Template:NO Bukoba (German port on Lake Victoria Nyanza), destroyed by British column.
1916
- Template:WF Battle of Verdun: Heavy fighting at Fleury and west of Thiaumont. Preliminary British bombardment along Somme front and northwards.

1917

1918
- Template:WF American success near Belleau Wood. British air attacks on Saabrücken, Offenburg (13 miles south east of Strassburg) and Karlsruhe.
