Lonsdale Battalion events that took place on 8 May.

1915

  • Battalion moves to Prees Heath Camp in Salop (Shropshire) where it joins the 97th Infantry Brigade, under Brigadier-General Hacket Thompson, C.B.
  • The ground there is found unsuitable for Brigade Training.[1]

1916

  • Battalion is located in an isolation camp at Contay Wood (measles) involved in Battalion training and small working parties.[2]

  1. The whole of the 97th Brigade proceeds on to Wensleydale, Yorkshire on 22 June.
  2. Training continues during the whole period of isolation.
