1914

  • Demonstrations in Ulster suggesting Civil War.

1915

  • Template:WF Crown Prince checked in Argonne after vigorous offensive. German advance round Souchez and capture cemetery. German attack in the "Labyrinth" (north of Arras) repulsed.
  • Template:EF Enemy offensive on the Bobr and Narev fronts (north-east of Warsaw).
  • Template:SF Turkish trenches before Achi Baba captured. Italian air-raid on Pola.
  • Template:NO Engagements reported between British-Belgian force and Germans on north Rhodesian frontier.

1916

  • Template:WF British gain Mametz Wood and make progress in Trones Wood. Successful raids in Loos salient.
    • Germans attack strongly at Verdun; gain some ground at Chapelle St. Fine, at intersection of Fleury-Vaux roads.
  • Template:EF Furious fighting continues on the Stokhod, with no decisive results.
  • Template:SF An Austrian attack on the Adige driven back.
  • Ae –  Russians under General Yudenich advance west of Erzerum on the Erzingan road and recapture Mamakhatun.

1917

  • Template:EF Russian progress towards Dolina (Galicia). General Kornilov crosses the Lomnica river.
  • Ae –  Announced that Turks have been routed by King of Hejaz in northern Arabia, 700 killed, 600 prisoners.
  • Template:PO Mesopotamia Debate: Mr. A. Chamberlain, Secretary of State for India, resigns. Chinese Republicans enter Pekin; Tuan Chi Jui, P.M.; Fen Kwo Chang, President.

1918

  • Template:EF Announcement of Allied force on Murman coast. Czecho-Slovaks capture Kazan (on River Volga); Czecho-Slovaks control Siberian Railway east of Penza.
  • Template:SF French advance on both sides of River Devoli (southern Albania); Austrians retreat.
  • Template:NO Japanese battleship Kawachi blown up and sunk in Tokuyama Bay, 500 casualties.
  • Template:PO Count Hertling in Reichstag on Belgium as a pawn. Prussian Upper House expels Prince Lichnowsky.
