Both are in hospital, so I divided the contents between the men in the {{gw|Platoon}}, and I can tell you they all enjoyed them immensely. We all send our deepest sympathy to Private Copeland, as he has lost a brother killed while he has been in hospital. 1916 (Friday)

  • Contay: Battalion involved in training.
  • Newspaper article More Local Casualties with tributes for Alfred Thompson (16272) and William Walter Stephen (13641), is published.[1]
  • Lance Sergeant Mitchison writes to the Workington Star and Harrington Guardian:
    Dear Mr. Star Man, A line to say I have received two parcels, one belonging to Corporal White and the other Private Copeland.
