1915 (Wednesday)

Events preceding the Lonsdales' arrival in France

• Private T. Carlyle is charged with quitting barracks whilst on sick and absent from retreat.

1916 (Friday)

• Senlis: Situated in billets involved in company training.

1917 (Saturday)

• Battalion leaves Savy at 8pm; arrives Holnon 9.30pm.
• Shelters are dug. Remains as support to two battalions in the front.

1918 (Sunday)

• Purple Line: Day quiet. Advance parties proceed to take over from 2nd King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry in the No.1 sector of No.3 Brigade.
• Transport is heavily shelled at Bienvillers. Two limbers are smashed and 7 other ranks are wounded.
• Deaths: John Hewitt (4346 Pte.) is killed in action, aged 25.
