Purple Line: Day quiet. Advance parties proceed to take over from 2nd King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry in the No.1 sector of No.3 Brigade.
Transport is heavily shelled at Bienvillers. Two limbers are smashed and 7 other ranks are wounded.
Deaths: John Hewitt (4346 Pte.) is killed in action, aged 25.
