1915

  • Routine Saturdays: ... in future the lecture 9.15-9.45 a.m. will be at the option of O.C. Companies who are expected to make the best use they can of this time, according to their discretion. [1]

1916

  • In reserve at Aveluy providing fatigue duties[2] for the Royal Engineers.[3]

1917

  • Battalion situated in the line near Beaumont Hamel. Two Companies in front line, one in support, one in reserve. Commanding Officer visits the line.[4]

1918

  • Battalion situated in the line. By day no movement is possible in forward area. By night all men possible work on wire, improving posts etc. The remainder carry food and material.[5]
