1916

  • Battalion leaves Noyelle for support trenches in the 'Cambrin Sector', arriving at 5:15pm where they relieve the 1st Sherwood Foresters.[1]
  • Battalion HQ situated at 'Maison Rouge.' Strength in the trenches totals 20 officers (including MO) and 280 other ranks.[1]
  • At 6pm hostile observation balloons are taken down.[1]
  • The Commanding Officer visits 'Sims Keep' and 'Arthur's Keep' and finds all correct.[1]
  • Deaths: Miles Capstick (15584 Pte.)
