In reserve at Aveluy providing fatigue duty for the Royal Engineers.

1917 (Thursday)

Beaumont Hamel: Battalion is situated in the R1 Sub-Sector of the line.
Two companies in front line, one in support, one in reserve. Commanding Officer visits the line.

1918 (Friday)

Battalion is situated in the field. The outpost line consists of a series of posts.
By day no movement is possible in forward area. By night all men possible work on wire, improving posts etc. The remainder carry food and material.
