  • Battalion Orders: Greatcoats will always be worn or carried by NCO’s and men proceeding to Musketry, for the purpose of protection in the case of rain and to lie upon when firing. [1]

1916

  • The Lonsdales and 17th Highland Light Infantry relieve each other; the men billet in Millencourt.[2]

1917

  • Battalions situated at Weincourt involved in general parades for training etc.[3]

1918

  • Battalion situated in camp near Woesten. Church parades as usual. Local cinemas etc. patronised in afternoon. The men bathe, get deloused and are issued with straw paliasses[4] and an extra blanket.[5]
