Citation For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. When his company met with resistance from parties of the enemy during an advance, he collected a body of men and overcame their opposition. He also led a party against an enemy machine gun, which he captured with ten prisoners. His conduct throughout the day was magnificent.
