Citation For conspicuous gallantry on 26th September 1915, near Hooge, when, in company with an Officer, he held on in the enemy’s trenches, and used his bombs until the supply was exhausted, and the enemy’s shelling compelled him to retire. He gave a fine example of devotion to duty.
