Citation For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. He collected a few men and attacked an enemy strong point in conjunction with another party. They captured the position in spite of heavy fire from the enemy, taking three machine guns and fifty prisoners. He showed splendid qualities of leadership and courage.
