Citation: For great gallantry and devotion to duty during the period 25th February to 17th September 1918. He has taken part in all arrangements with the battalion during this period. He has been for a large part of the time commanding a platoon, and on several occasions Acting CSM. He has at all times when under fire shown gallantry and coolness and set a very fine example to the men.
