1915 (Thursday)

  • Letter to Lt-Col. Machell from Y.M.C.A. Carlisle: May I thank you, and the other officers, for the kind way they have supported the Y.M.C.A. at Blackhall....the way our buildings in the Camp have 'taken on' with the men, has been in no small measure due to your valuable cooperation.[1]
  • Proficiency pay[a] is awarded to men across all companies of the Battalion.[2][b]

1916 (Saturday)

1917 (Sunday)

  • Nesle: All but one Company parades and marches to dig on Strong Points.

1918 (Monday)

  • Battalion situated in Divisional Reserve along 'Canal Bank.'
  • Training recommences and companies are at the disposal of officers commanding companies.

Notes

  1. Proficiency pay was an additional payment given to the soldiers if he fulfilled certain conditions applicable to service and qualification. These were rated at 3d and 6d per day.
