Citation For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. When all the officers of his company had become casualties this warrant officer took command and reorganised it. His magnificent example of courage and coolness against overwhelming odds inspired his men to a stubborn resistance, reducing his own casualties, and inflicting heavy losses on, and checking the enemy.
