Citation At Brie near Peronne, on 5th September 1918, he displayed conspicuous gallantry and dash in rushing a machine gun which was enfilading his company and causing may casualties. He bombed the crew and forced them to surrender, and then working along the trench drove another gun tam into a dug-out ad bombed them until they surrendered.
