  • In the front line. Encounters a raid on C Company's lines about 3:30am with one other rank killed and one wounded.
  • Heavy hostile bombardment on left sub-sector (St. Georges and Lombardzyde) during the afternoon.
  • One enemy soldier, who is wounded during raid on C Company, is brought into the Lonsdale's lines.
  • Deaths: Fred Clancey (28832 Pte.)

Notes

  1. There were four companies in the three detachments: A Company and B Company from East and North Cumberland were based at Blackhall Racecourse in Carlisle, C Company from Westmorland was based at Kendal, and D Company from West Cumberland was based at Workington.
