Lonsdale Battalion events that took place on 22 March.

1915

  • Letter from General Sir Henry Mackinnon to Lt-Col. Machell: Hope to “fetch up” at the Station Hotel, Carlisle.   • Battalion situated at Nesle involved with working parties[4] on bridges and roads etc. Guards and piquets are supplied, remainder of Battalion bathes.[5]

1918

  • Battalion situated in Divisional Reserve. Day is spent in cleaning up after tour in the line, the men concentrated in shelters along 'Canal Bank'.[6]
  • One Company is out on working party duty and two Companies bathe during afternoon.[6]
