1915 (Sunday)

  • Proposal to proceed to Grantham by train on 7 April.[1]

1916 (Tuesday)

  • Dernancourt: Situated in rest billets.
  • Lt-Col. P. W. Machell: Getting short of officers. The regular battalions are always changing, but these North-Country men want to know their officers thoroughly or they count for very little.[2]

1917 (Wednesday)

1918 (Thursday)

  • Battalion moves from the sunken road at Ransart at 8.30am to occupy old trenches in the vicinity of Adinfer Wood.
  • Two companies in rear and two on the right flank. Rear companies move to the front of the wood later in the day.
  • Shelters are dug in the sides of old trenches.
  • Battalion Headquarters is located at the rear.
