British Government notify Russian Government of their acceptance of Russian claims to Constantinople (see 4 March, 12 April 1915, and 2 December 1916).
French Government issue decrees similar to British Order in Council and Proclamation of the 11 March.
General Sir Ian Hamilton appointed Commander-in-Chief, Mediterranean (Dardanelles) Expeditionary Force (see 17 March).
