- Long-distance bombardment of Fumes by the Germans.
Southern Front
- Austrians completely defeated south of Belgrade (Battle of Rudnik Ridges).
- South Africa: Collapse of rebellion; 1,200 rebels surrender.
- Battle of Falkland Islands, Admiral Sturdee sinks most of German squadron.[1]
Political
- Great Britain: Trial of Adolf Ahlers for high-treason commenced.
- Great Britain: Speech of the Solicitor-General at a great recruiting meeting held in the Victoria Hall, Bolton, Lancashire.[2]
