1915 (Tuesday)

  • Codford: Battalion proceeds in two trains for Folkstone.
  • Folkstone: Battalion boards HMT Princess Victoria, heading for Boulogne.
  • Battalion strength: 23 officers, 896 other ranks.

1916 (Thursday)

  • Battalion is situated in billets at Mailly-Maillet.
  • The rescue party remains in trenches but no result.
  • Orders are received for the Lonsdales to parade and then march for Arqueves. They arrive at 4.30pm.
  • A draft of 12 men reports for duty.

1917 (Friday)

  • Battalion situated at Hill Top Farm preparing battle stores and equipment.
