1914 (Saturday)

  • Five men are recruited at Holme St. Cuthbert’s and 18 men at 7 Devonshire Street.[1]
  • Allen Pearson Lumsden (15383) enlists in Working.
  • Lt-Col. Machell reports to Lord Lonsdale: A football match and that the players wanted to wear yellow [Lonsdale] colours; men not on duty were allowed to go home for the weekend; recruitment now over 700.[2]
  • Carlisle South-End Cooperative Society: We have delivered boots...as follows: Blackwell Camp 687 and 1 pair specials [size] 14, and to Kendal 238 pairs making 925 pairs...leaving 125 pairs.[3]

1916 (Tuesday)

  • Bouzincourt: General parade of instruction.

1917 (Wednesday)

  • Battalion leaves Teteghem at 8.15am and marches for Zeegers Cappel, arriving 1pm.
